Volunteers are integral to our organization.
We are always looking for individuals and organizations to partner with to bring quality classes, retreats, and workshops to the Evanston Center for Spiritual Wholeness and Healing. If you have a topic or class you would like to bring to the community, please email us at email@example.com.
As we grow, we will continue to add to our volunteer opportunities and will list them here.
Volunteer Opportunities Available
We need a team of people to help up assemble our new chairs. Each chair will require two people (one to hold the cushion, and one to screw the pieces together). We would like to have it be a fun experience for all, so the more the merrier! Please bring an electric screwdriver if you have one. The chairs will arrive on February 13, so we are looking at sometime in the week following to have the chairs ready.
We have internship opportunities for students in the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Denver, Iliff School of Theology, and Denver Seminary. Interns would work as program assistants and would learn the ins and outs of running a non-profit and developing new programs. Students will have the opportunity to put together their own events.
The English Learning Center is looking for teachers and mentors for their students. We also have opportunities for Christian ministry through University Park UMC.
We often have outreach events going on through our parent church University Park United Methodist Church. Right now we are collecting hats and mittens for the homeless.
Volunteer Guest Speakers
Do you have a topic that you are passionate about? We can help you organize a class or workshop or host the space for you. Some of our speakers have volunteered their time and others organize their costs so that they earn money through registration fees for themselves or their organizations. We did a conflict resolution workshop through Alternatives to Violence Project that helped fund classes for those in prison. We also had Andrew Romanoff from Mental Health Colorado, who donated his time to teach our community about mental health issues and regulations in Colorado.
We have a lovely garden along the alley and need help keeping the plants healthy and the area clear of debris.
