Mission & Vision

The Evanston Center for Spiritual Wholeness and Healing has become a home for various world spiritual traditions. Our aim is to bring together leaders and students from a number of traditions to provide quality spiritual practices for wellness. We are committed to providing a sacred place where people gather to experience the healing power of the Divine. As an inclusive community, dwelling within the shared spaces of our building, some for brief encounters and others for long-term relationships, we hope to cultivate a spirit of welcoming and generosity through the mutual practice of respect and servanthood.

The Evanston Center for Spiritual Wholeness and Healing was born from relationship between Evanston United Methodist Church and University Park United Methodist Church. The Evanston congregation wanted their building to continue to hold a place in the community and to be used to foster spiritual growth, education, wellness, and social action. This dream was complemented by the core tenants of University Park (UPark) who sought to offer ministries that are inclusive, intergenerational, intercultural, and interfaith. While our origins and oversight are Methodist, we hope that the Evanston Center will be a place where all faith traditions flourish and feel at home. We have much to learn from one another, and we do so by offering "Love Uncensored and Love Unconditional (LoveU2)."

The Evanston Center is part of the Reconciling Ministries Network. We are called to be a space welcoming to all people who seek to heal their minds, bodies, and souls. We welcome all people who seek spiritual wholeness and healing. We celebrate humanity's diversity of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, age, faith, economic status, physical and mental ability, and educational background.

We affirm that the Divine spoke goodness into all creation, and that all people are worthy of Love and Grace. We acknowledge our differences in our individual and cultural perspectives and theologies, but stand committed to being a space of spiritual healing and wholeness for all people. We invite you to embark on this journey of reconciliation with us.
